He was born and raised in Mytilene. He studied at the Department of Computer Engineering
& Informatics of the University of Patras. He is a Senior Professor
at the Department of Geography of the University of the Aegean.
He collects many different things, including: Greek and Cypriot stamps, stamps on the subject of scouting, postal history of Lesvos, philatelic and postal publications and books.
He is a member of the Lesvos Philatelic Society (and its president), the Panhellenic Association of Thematic Philately & Youth and the Scouts on Stamps Society International.
